What Can You Do with the Software?

We've listed some common tasks players want to do with their Fretlight. This list is just a fraction of what can be done with all the software but it gives you a good overview of common tasks and which software to use. Remember, Guitar Tunes is an app for your mobile device and is best used with an iPad or iPhone.

Guitar Pro is desktop software for your PC (Windows 8/10) or Mac (OS X Yosemite 10.10 or later) and allows you to import/open tablature you've downloaded from the internet. Guitar Pro Mobile is like Guitar Pro but streamlined for mobile devices. Again, best used on an iPad or iPhone and it also allows you to import Tab from your computer or mobile browser into the Guitar Pro mobile app.

    • I want to watch interactive videos and learn.

      Use the Guitar Tunes app on your iPad or iPhone. There are over 90 videos in the library. Includes lesson, lick videos, artist videos. Free and in-app purchase.

    • I want to download and play Tablature.

      Use either the Guitar Pro software on your PC or Mac, or the Guitar Pro Mobile app on your Ipad or iPhone. Get free tabs from www.ultimate-guitar.com. Free content available.

    • I want to light up chords and scales on the Fretlight.

        Use the Guitar Tunes app on your iPad or iPhone. The extensive chord and scale library is free OR you can use Guitar Pro on your PC or Mac and see an extensive list of scales. Free content available.  Players can save custom chord progressions for future playback and practice. 

    • I want to learn songs using free Tablature.

      Use either the Guitar Pro software on your PC or Mac, or the Guitar Pro Mobile app on your iPad or iPhone. Get free tabs from www.ultimate-guitar.com. Free content available.
    • I want to slow songs down and loop them.

      ALL software allows you to slow songs down and loop any part. Guitar Pro also has a speed trainer. Free content on PC/Mac, in-app purchase for songs on mobile.

    • I want to improvise over a progression using a scale I choose.

      You can use Guitar Tunes and purchase Jam Along songs, or you can use Guitar Pro (or Guitar Pro Mobile) and download free progressions or songs on www.ultimate-guitar.com. Free on PC/Mac, in-app purchase on mobile.

    • I want to make my own chord and scale patterns and save them.

      Use Guitar Pro on your PC or Mac. You can edit an existing scale or chord pattern or make your own and save them. Free in software.       Players can save custom chord progressions for future playback and practice. 
  • I want to play songs with open tunings, or see scales with open tunings.

    Use Guitar Pro on your PC or Mac. You can either download a song with an open tuning or convert and regular tuned song into an open tuning of your choice. Free content available.
