The main apps you'll want to use are Guitar Tunes and Guitar Pro. Other apps that are available are detailed below. Here's a hint. If you just want to practice scales on your Fretlight guitar, your mobile phone will be fine. Choose a scale, put your phone down or in your pocket, and go anywhere with your Fretlight. If you want to watch videos and take a lesson or look at tablature, we recommend a tablet for better a better viewing experience.
Guitar Tunes. The Guitar Tunes app is where you'll find our instructional videos. Some of these videos are free, but most of them are in-app purchases. As the instructor teaches you your Fretlight guitar lights-up. You can slow these videos down, loop sections, etc.
Guitar Tunes also has a massive Chord & Scale library with over a thousand different patterns to choose from. Blink root notes, see individual box patterns or the pattern across the entire fretboard.
You can also download a progression or song and Guitar Tunes will suggest a few scales you can use to solo over the progression. Change scales, change tempo and more! You can even see the chords and chord tones for the progression.
Guitar Pro Mobile. The Guitar Pro mobile app allows you to play your tabs and light the Fretlight all from the convenience of your mobile device. Just a few simple steps is all it takes to get your favorite tabs into your mobile device. And of course, you can slow the song down, loop it and much more!
The Guitar Pro file format is the most widespread when it comes to look for tabs online. Browse files on the internet and import them in your app via a Wi-Fi connection or by using the file explorer. Guitar Pro is a universal app. It means that you can install it on your different devices (smartphone or tablet) using the same operating system without purchasing it twice.
(iOS only for Fretlight compatibility. Android version for Fretlight wireless compatibility coming in December 2018).
